The house is completely south-facing, the location is on a sunny plateau in unobstructed landscape, not far from the Suttensee and Tegernsee. Approx. 50 km south of Munich lies Rottach-Egern at the southern end of the Tegernsee. From there, the Suttenhütte can be reached via the toll road to the Valepp after about 300 meters in altitude. The toll road leads past the Sutten lift, which takes hikers to the top of the Stümpfling in summer and opens up the ski arena to the Spitzing ski area in winter.
