About the location
Details about the accommodation / location

You reach our house via a quiet residential road in the Selke valley. A large valley basin opens up in front of you, Falkenstein Castle towers above it and in the middle of it all stands the building, which is steeped in centuries of history.

The house has an eventful past: founded in 1592 as a mill, it burned down in 1880. From 1891, a sawmill was operated here, which ran until the 1960s. Today, design details of the old mill and the sawmill have been preserved - a flower bed that traces the former millrace or old cogs that have been integrated as decoration.

We are Karin and Ralph and after many years in the corporate world, we took the plunge and renovated the house with a lot of passion. We were able to create a place that makes the traces of the past tangible and at the same time is practical and inviting for groups.

Single and twin-bed accommodation is available for seminars and team offsites – a total of 16 bright accommodation units that can be flexibly combined. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette, a cozy living/sleeping area and a modern bathroom - all designed in simple, natural materials. In summer, comfortable glamping tents are added as a special highlight, and there is also a small camping pitch and space for your own tent camp on the property.

The centerpiece is the versatile group room with its own kitchen: a spacious, bright room with a historical touch that is perfect for workshops, meetings or evenings together.

There are traces of the past throughout the building: thick walls, exposed beams, industrial relics. Large windows provide plenty of light, and from many places you have a peaceful view of the countryside and the castle.

Facilities include a sauna with a roof terrace for relaxing, several terraces with seating, a fireplace and a garden that invites you to linger. Everything is laid out in such a way that groups have enough space to come together and at the same time have the opportunity to retreat.

We are delighted to welcome you here and to introduce you to the house with its special history - a place that quietly combines the old and the new.

Sustainability & Social

We live sustainability quite naturally and without great effort: during the renovation, we preserved the existing building and only carefully renewed it; historical substance was preserved and carefully supplemented. The house is heated with environmentally friendly pellet heating. We use regional ingredients in the kitchen, avoid disposable food and separate waste carefully. Cleaning agents are ecological, and water and electricity are used sparingly.
