The event venue emphasizes reuse and regional materials: historic wooden structures and bricks were preserved or reused, and new components made of solid wood were added and insulated with wood fiber and mineral chips. A 100-kW photovoltaic system powers the building; hot water is supplied via a domestic hot water heat pump, and heating is provided by wood chips.
The venue is located in Fröndenberg—a quiet area with good transportation access. You can get there by car (parking is available on-site) or by train via Dortmund Central Station to Fröndenberg Central Station. The nearest airport is Dortmund Airport. In town: cafes, restaurants; walking trails start within walking distance. If you’re looking for a bit of city life after the workshop, you can quickly reach Dortmund, Unna, Neheim, or Soest.
