Sustainability is part of the concept here – logically, in the middle of the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site. The location relies on regional products, short delivery routes and seasonal cuisine to keep the ecological footprint small. Energy-efficient systems, waste separation and economical use of resources are standard. Even guests can easily join in: prefer bicycles to cars, support local suppliers and consciously enjoy nature.
First you go by car or train to Harlingen – from there the ferry takes you directly to Terschelling in around 2 hours. If you prefer it quicker, take the speedboat and you will be on the island in around 50 minutes. Once there, you can get around like the locals: by bike, on foot or by shuttle bus. Cars are allowed, but honestly - between the dunes, beach and harbor, it's time to slow down. The journey here is already part of the offsite experience.
